Yeh I'm kinda bouncing around like a giggly little schoolgirl here so I thought I'd get the Mrs to snap of a cpl quick pics to show you guys...
Picked it up this afternoon and have only put about 40km's on the clock so far but I'm kinda stoked about it, she purrs like a kitten on steroids though a 2000W amplifier and has quite a bit of kick.
It's at night in a dimly lit garage but we'll get some nice pics (after a clean n polish) over the weekend and I'll update and add to the "Show Your Bike" thread too. Don't mind the mess behind, I set my gear up under the light which is where the best spot to take a pic is, yes, both cars are kept outside much to the dismay of most visitors who are not muso's...
I present:
2011 Iron 883, repainted to gloss black. Screamin Eagle air cleaner, pro tuned, Vance & Hines Short Shots, Tribal mirrors, pegs and grips.
I haven't named her yet but I'm working on it...
It's ok Terrorisone, you are entitle to your opinion and I'm not gonna be upset by it (except that I chose the HD logo badge and I miss the 80's ). But honestly, I'm happy as a pig in mud with it and I don't mind if it isn't everybody's fancy. It really does need better pics though but its tough to get out of work in the daylight. Maybe Sunday if I'm not too hungover I'll get her to pose for a few shots somewhere.
The oil tank is still matt as it is the default colour on either the denim or yellow Iron. Being that this was originally a yellow iron, they just left it as is.
So far I'm loving the bike but I'll probably be getting some new bars soon, something to lift them up and back a bit as my short little arms are almost fully stretched as it is. Still getting used to finding neutral on the thing tho, didn't realise how touchy it is but I'll get the hang of it soon enough. I'm not sure if the tribal mirrors are working right as I cant seem to rotate the mirrors at all (they are pretty much stuck solidly though it looks like they have a ball-joint where the mirror attaches to the stem) but when I move the mirror the stem rotates in its fitting to adjust, if that make sense. It works ok but I need to head back to the dealer soon anyway for some more trinkets and stuff.
Coming from a 125cc scooter, this thing is just bloody awesome and I'm now officially a Harley Convert and loving it! I'm working on convincing my Mrs to use my old scooter and get her license so she can get herself a Harley now muhahaha.
Blokes have been naming big machines after women for centuries..... well sailors have anyway.....
Personally, I'd rather ride a "she" than a "he" or an "it" any day of the week... But thats my opinion, each to their own right?
