I am hoping someones experience can save me some time.Starter Whizzes around but does not engage.Thought I d whip it off and muck about with it on bench..............WTF......So rather than pull off the primary to undo the jackshaft {why did they do that??????????}Maybe someone knows these starters better than me.Thanks

Yep sound like the clutch thing, done one too, takes longer to get it out than to fix it,If the primary gasket stays on the primary in one piece you can use it again worked for me,
