Im fitting a digital speedo to my bike with a sensor that senses of the back wheel nuts .The gauge is a dakota series 2 mini speedo
the instructions say green wire switch input(+)
blue wire night dimming input(+)
red wire fused + 12v with key on
Gray speed signal input
black ground for gauge
red/white speed sensor power out (if required)
and the sensor has 3 wires coming from it
red sensor power
green speedsignal
black sensor ground
the instrucions are doing my head in Ive wired as I thought it should go but Im not getting any sensing from the back wheel. Is there anyone out there who has wired one of these up who can tell me which wire should go to what?
looks like fun.....if you need some moral support give me a yell. Saturdays free (at last) even though its looking like rain. Just had a look at the instructions on the net...how have you done it? is the speed sensor getting a pulse? did you have to put a magnet on the rear wheel? remember helping a mate fit a new dash on his crx450 with a new sensor and it took a little bit to get it working.
this is what i came up with.
guage
black = earth
red= ignition
blue = dimmer (leave this so it stays bright)
green = goes to a toggle switch momentry then to 12v power (looks like its used for setting it up only)
grey = goes to the GREEN WIRE ON THE SPEED SENSOR
white red = goes to the RED WIRE ON THE SPEED SENSOR
THE BLACK WIRE ON THE SENSOR IS JUST ANOTHER EARTH
thanks Al I might come in and see you at work.
