This is tempting fate, I know, but I've had only one puncture in approx 70 thou kms on Harleys, and that happened when I was at work and I could use a pallet jack to lift the bike. So, what DO you do when you get a flat miles from nowhere? I've asked a few riders this question and the answer usually involves Harley Assist, etc. I carry tyre levers, pump, spanners, etc. but I don't really know how I'll get a wheel off without the bike lifter in my garage. As a consequence, i joined Harley Assist.
What's the go?
Gonzo.
Thanks, Mick, but I've got tubes, and I don't really want to replace the laced wheels. Gonzo
Hi Hogman, as piccys tell a thousand words, my jibberish codified description above was referring to these sorts of products. Dog Turds.....= http://www.autobarn.com.au/products/1/14/3366385/ or http://www.bonzabuy.com.au/store/product_info.php?products_id=115 Can of Air = http://www.inter-bike.co.uk/inter-bikeshop/default.asp?categoryid=542 I haven't used the can of air but suggest it is a good thing to have in your tool kit. At least it lets you get out of trouble... Alternatively, a little more bulk but handy is this ..... http://bestrestproducts.com/celestia/products/cyclepump/ Now the tubes....thats a whole lot more work to fix the tube. The air products will work for that also though. Cheers Mick
I lay the bike on its side with a jaket protecting the shiny bits. That gets the wheel out if I'm in a remote area. Then tyre lever the bike tyre off and repair the tube (laced wheels)
(Alloys) I just use a dog turd and compressed air cylinders. No need to take the wheel off.
