MT7 or MT8

Just done a v-tune today with the MT-8 file (DPS176). I did the cam-tune IVO analysis first, then adjusted the setting to 2. (the estimator said 4 for the 54H cams) Next I copied the VE tables from my previous MT-7 file (PS176) hoping they would be pretty close. WRONG.

Thinking maybe re-setting the cam IVO made a BIG difference by producing plenty of red cells in the v-tune print out.

Run the cam-tune IVO analysis & see how close it is to the estimator. If there's a big difference, the MT8 file would be worth sticking to.

Thanks Hilly, they are much lower, especially in the lower throttle percentage cells. ERG analysis is next if I can figure out where to make the adjustments, but I'll get it.

As I said to Robo try the cam-tune IVO analysis, pretty simple, then tune the same way with the MT8 file as you do with the MT7.

I was reading about this on a US forum. It is to do with the setup for Vtuning, setting the Accel and Decel cells to 0 and then setting the AFR to 14.6 across the board all ok so far but. When you set the Accell and Decel cells to zero do a v tune you have just tuned your VE's for that afr. When you go back and set all the cells to their original confi along with the AFR you have just altered the AFR dramatically depending on the enrichment when accelerating and decel. Steve was asked about this and he said he had always done it the way he wrote it in the manual, however I can see where this bloke was coming from.

If push comes to shove I can find the link...
