Hi fellas,

I had oil leaking from this bolt just before my last service. It was leaking a fair bit. Anyway, it was fixed (tightened) at service.

I've been keeping an eye on it, and its started leaking again.

My question is, do these bolts need to be torqued to a certain range or do they have some kind of seal that might be damaged.

Without being able to work out just where abouts what your taking the photo of, I'd say you need either some teflon thread tape or thread sealing paste.

Oil is able to leak through the gap between the two threaded parts.

That's the oil filter housing? Looks looks like all it needs is sealing paste or tape on the plug.

yeah its the oil filter housing,

I'll try sealing paste. Just cant understand why one leaks and the other doesn't if its paste that i need.
