Hi I have an S&S type G carby and need some info if anyone can help.

I pulled the accel pump off the other day and there are 2 ballbearings inside.

1 sits on an o ring and the other on a spring.

Well the spring, sprung to god knows where and I am having trouble getting one. My question is does anyone know what the purpose of this ball bearing on the spring? Can it still be used until the one I oredered arives in 3 weeks?

    Cheers Jonesy.

Its needed to seat the ball bearing. You will need to find that spring before re-assembly. 3 weeks is a bugger. Must be someone locally that stocks it.

     Thanks Dave,

I knew that the spring held the bearing but just wanted to know what the purpose of the ballbearing on the spring. i have ordered one but it is a 3 week wait and unfortunately there is no chance of finding the spring. I have searched the complete floor on hand s and knees.

its part of the fuel pump, have a look here: http://www.speedsyndicate.no/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=25&Itemid=33

I am no expert on the S&S carby but would imagine that it regulates the amount of fuel delivered to the fuel pump and would assume that fuel will be sucked out of the pump introducing a rich condition if the spring is not in place.

That spring is part of the fuel pump repair kit. Should be heaps of places that have these in stock?
