A late additional question,      is it just a matter of fitting the unit, and flashing it with the chosen map ?  or  do I have to actually fiddle with any settings before the bike is ridable....

obviously, this is the first time attempting fitting something like this....

    cheers and thanks in advance

I'm about to fit the Thundermax on my 07 StBob.    I know that you can't leave the datalink cable connected because of the alarm module, and I hear the 6 gear light disappears, but I don't care too much about that as I rarely use 6th anyway,   but I hear things about error codes and other things.

Has anyone fitted one of these units to an 07?    are there any problems ?   I like what I read and I already have a unit sitting on the shelf,  it's just getting around to fitting it.....

l ended up purchasing a TMax with Auto tune, & fitted it up to my 2006 streetbob, it came premapped with wot im runnin, As for installing it, well , its abviosly a universal item as there are a couple of design faults when hooking this baby up to a 06-07 -or 08, Dyna but nothing that cant be over come, the data link cable is the hardest part in my opinion, ld been told to do this n that with it, but instead l fitted the cable in its place used a black marker and drew around it, took it out & with a new stanly knife blade installed cut away all the excess plastic covering being very carfull not to expose the wires, it will then bend easily to a 90deg. angle which you need to acheive to fit it between the alarm module & the tmax unit it self, as there is only about 2mm between the 2 units, the other main mod is to cut a little out of the housing but it is only a little.....took me 2 1/2 hrs but most of that time was thinking about it..its turned out very neat and looking at it you would not know there has been any modifications...

LMAO..... what a c*** of a day.... got up in the morn' to read emails saying some gloves I wanted from the good folk at Bikers Gear Oz were out of stock ( and I hardly every wear them anyway), the 2 piece bag set up I ordered through Zanottis from theMoCo has just been superceded by a smaller and dearer 09 version(how typical) and won't get delivered for some 6 weeks, so I figure fuck it, I'll get outside and get stuck into fitting the T'max, only to find the rear O2 sensor is a shit to get to, never mind I'll tackle that later, then set the f***********n alarm off with my head right beside the bike and took forever to shut the thing up, going deaf in meantime. I thought fuck it....... maybe tomorrow.................. LOL ........
