hi, shovels have  & out side oil feed supply  thats  that thin chrome line  that goes up  on the outside rear barrel  & head to the rear rocker box  & then X over the the front rocker box from the rear ,  just undo the right hand side rocker shaft cap screws  on each ,1 (@ a time while the motor is going too make sure of oil supply to each rocker , drainage is thru internal barrel hole  as well as the xcess  goes down the pushrod tubes  too lube the  top of the cam followers , the cam follower blocks have drain holes into the cam chest  also ,     there is no  oil feed up the pushrod  as per EVO & T.cam motors

gidday daddyracer     thanks 4 the response re oil to pushrods         i am getting plenty of oil to the rocker shafts but no oil seems to be getting to the rocker arm and feeding onto the pushrod  (except for one of the 4) i'm thinking there must be a capillary from rocker shaft to the rocker arm as there appears to b an oil hole in the rocker arm where the pushrod seats ?? i have had engine running with no pushrod covers and only get oil coming down one rod.  anymore ideas appreciated

I dont think you have anything at all to worry about, as Daddyracer said, drainage goes down via barrel so what you are seeing is just a run off thats not going down the drainage holes, nothing else.

What is your main concern? the rockers are getting oil so its not tapping? is it just that you are unsure of why oil is running back down only 1 pushrod? is the bike on the side stand or upright?

thanks dave p  my main concern is that , with the bike up right  i am getting oil flow down one pushrod but nothing down the other three  and i am thinking there should be some oil on all 4 pushrods at top for lube     i have had a previous problem with some silicone blocking the oil channel in the rocker shaft and am concerned it may have blocked the capillary that feeds to the top of pushrod. i have recently purchased the bike  not running       thanks

Ahh, there's the missing data. Unkown engine. Dont take much to pull the heads off a shovel and give it the once over considering its an unkown/not running when you purchased it. Anything else with an unknown is just guessing. Thats what I would do anyway. Then you get to see what the bore is like whilst your at it and replace vlaves or guides if needed as well.
