Further update. Peter Stevens just called me and told me what they originally said about the pricing was incorrect. I now have to pay the extra $1,500 for a 2011 model even though they said I didn't have to. Pricks.

I have to say that my first Harley purchase isn't a happy one. Love the look of the 48 but due to their profiteering I might cancel it.

Well I'm picking up my 2011 Iron on Saturday, had a couple calls from the stealer, not a single word of a price hike! Better stay that way too!

I saw the black 48 at HH melb for $18,225 yesterday. Confusing because on the HD website they're still listed at $16,625.

Peter Stevens actually called me last minute and said they weren't going to charge me the extra $1,500. I was shocked. Much happier now. I'll take some pics on the weekend and post them.

the sporty AU price rise seems to be official now..they're all listed on the HD site. $14250 for the Iron, and $18250 for the 48.

$18250 for a 48, i think you'd have to be nuts to pay that much for them, add a few more grand and upgrade to a dyna....really that 48 is over priced, i dont see $4000 in upgrades compared to an Iron. 4g's spent on an Iron can get you a better bike any day of the week.

Yes i was informed of the higher price for a 48 a few weeks ago when I put my deposit down. It bothered me but I wasn't financial enough to purchase one when they first came out. As it's the HD bike I really want I'm going ahead with it! Added a lot of extras too so the cost is up there. I agree - It seems like we're paying more for the fact it's popular than what the bikes actually worth. I intend keeping my 48 long term )even if I get another HD down the track) so seeing it more as adding to my personal collection. Thats my way of justifying it anyway :0)

Thats the way liz! Thinking about it i'd proberley buy an Iron if i was to do it over again, My Iron owes me about 16g's at the moment, and i got it at the old price. If you really like something and you really want it, fuck the price and just get it, we only live once hey! Fucking Enjoy it!
