Guys, Will a 200 rear tyre fit on a stock set-up FXDF and does anyone have imput on whats the best to put on either Metz or Dunlop as the stock tyre is a bit of a worry in the wet

I have been told a Avon 200 will go, however also told that Avon 200 actually measures 190, given the design of the Avon you actually have more rubber on the road with the Dunlop 180.

I am on my second Dunlop having got 14000 from the first and will get similar from this one currently done 10000 .

I was dubious of the Dunlop front in the wet ,but could find no-one recomending anything better, when i put the new Dunlop (done 20000) on the front (they have changed em slightly) i thought it OK, so am thinking to change it a bit earlier (14000 maybe) to optimise performance.

clearance under the guard could be issue ,unless the bob guard has made allownce with indicator wires

it will fit on as long as it goes on a 5 1/2" or 6" rim.

You might have to tidy up the wiring under the rear guard as that will be where your biggest clearance issue is.

Also check belt to rim clearance, i spaced my pulley over a touch when I fitted my 200.

Seems that the type of tyre depends on ya riding style . IM in the adelaide hills on my fatbob AND LOVE IT, Chucked the dunlops away im not going of road and they dont grip on the black .Now im running avons and if i get over 10 K means i didnt thrash it enough .Saying that on a road trip to cans an back STRAIGHT LINE i got 13 k so make of it what ya want ,but them dunlops arnt good .did meet a bloke that had over 14 k on his first tyre but we all know the second one wont do that, Im a big bloke an some mite say im 2 up all the time .Skinny little guys will always get better km,s

i agree the stock dunlops are shit i had scary moments with them years ago and have riden mates new bikes with them at diff times
over the years and dont recommend them for anyone. i have found the metzlers to be a good grip tyre and have gotten
10000 plus ks riding hard but they dont look the best and seem to look skinnyer even know are the same size. Michelins
are what i stuck to and are a good all round tyre and look the part too. did not try the avons on the dyna but have them on my
street glide and they seem good but have only done 3000 ks so jury is still out. I have always found everyones opinion is diff when it comes to tyres though.
depends on how you ride i guess.

As for the wider tyre i had no trouble changing the 160 to a 180 on the street bob (which would be similar i reckon) but had to buy 'blinker relocation kit' which just pulls the blinker wires closer to the gaurd which is what someone has mentioned previously.
