Hi all,
My TTS arrived today been looking through the maps and nothing really jumps out for my combo.
09 FXDF with SE HB and Rush slip ons 1.75 , am i on the right track with map CQD-176-03 or CPZ-176-03
Thanks
As AJ said.......take your time!
My advice would be to load each of those maps and ride it for a full tank of juice for each.....assuming it runs ok! Obviously if it runs like shit then try the other map straight away.
Do that much at least to determine which map feels better............then begin the vtune process. Trust me, I have jumped in to the vtuning too soon on the wrong map and just could'nt get it tuned right. Getting the closest map to start with is half the battle!
You should be able to feel which map best suits your bike, but it may take a little time to notice the differences, hence the "full tank of juice" test. Also, keep track of your fuel consumption on each map as this may tell you if it's running rich or lean..........compare to your original mileage as well.
Don't be in a hurry to start vtuning until you have found the best starting calibration...........otherwise your'e gonna end up with a lot of heartache............as I did!!!
Good luck with it...........once you get a good tune sorted, it is well and truly worth it!
Burto.
I loaded the CQD176-03 map this arvo she fired up okay,I will run this for a tank as you suggest and see how things go.
Ive got plenty reading to do and ive ordered a new battery for my laptop this ones stuffed.
Thanks fellas.
Took the bike for its first run today with the base map loaded very impressed NO popping on decel and generally rode a hell of a lot better than the VH fuelpak, actually it craps all over the fuelpak. The bike sounds alot different to a bit quieter.
I'm currently running one of the Kuryakyn cals in my 2011 RoadKing. Everything runs really well, thinking I may give the Vtune runs a miss.
OK, I hear you guys, Vtune here we come.
