fuel gauge question

    Sounds normal mate that 4 litres is reserve .Thats why you fill when it shows empty,so you dont run out.

    That's the way it is, not so hard to get used to, but I tell ya, that last 50 K's always seems like ya goin up hill pushin a headwind !

    Easier to give her a drink when she says she's thirsty.

    Guys

    The fuel gauges on Harleys are notoriously inaccurate. On my 03 Ultra I judge by the kilometres or when the reserve fuel light comes on. This has been a gripe of Harley owners ever since they installed fuel gauges on the bikes. They are little more than useless.

    Last month riding from Ceduna to Nullabor Roadhouse (312k) got in on the smell of. Put 19.5 litres in and the book says tank on Heritage is 19.1 reckon I was lucky to get there.
