    Hi people,

     

    Any body have any tips on how to fix scratches on a Matt Black paint job?  :(

    maybe use a texta, or get yourself some touch up paint, if they are small just leave them.

    Not yet, but I will be repainting the rear fender soon coz its a bit scratched up.

     Would be interested to hear if anyone has tried a "touch up" with this paint................not that I need one now but no doubt, one day!!

     At a guess I'd say a new HD painted and decaled tank would be $600-700.  

    I'd get some HD matt black paint and paint some sheet metal, put similar scratches in it and see what happens if you try and sand out with 1200-2000 grit sandpaper.  Least that way it won't destroy the tank more if it doesn't work.

     Just make sure whoever paints the guards uses sound deadener under them, pretty noisy otherwise

    Had guards and tank done in matte black a second time just recently (done through a friend so dirt cheap) so now I use a silicone spray over them prior to riding which allows me to just wipe it down after the ride. The spray catches a lot of stuff prior to it touching the paint work.
