Got a tip off from a reliable source today that new Harley prices will drop significantly at the end of June.  Good news for people in the market for new bikes.  Not so good for us trying to sell our existing ones.  But in general it's a good thing for the local consumers and industry.  Also heard that parts will begin to be offerred at the same prices paid by people in the U.S.  Bring it on!

    Cheers,
    KC

Bollocks ...New model comes out shortly so they will sell new 2012 model at 1500-2000 over

Sell 2011 model at 2011 model prices and tell ya what a big saving you get

Any 2010 models left wil be at 2010 prices and half the fackwits will think there getting a supa doopa deal just for them .

To really sweeten the deal they will throw in , a s&s exhaust a couple of extras at 2012 prices , but throw in free fitting and BINGO the suckers will come in

As I already own a 08 Road King I hope HD Moco increase prices twenty fold

    Can see it now

2012 Road King Standard, $59, 000.00 ride away, no more to pay.
Will improve the value of my bike for sure.

Rodders did you check out what year they were , Its done every year Harley do it everyone does it . Lat June -july . Peter Stevens adeaide were putting road Kings out at $27,500 to get rid of the old stock . , Then it was straight back up to $32,500 ride away .

Some Harleys have actually dropped in price, i paid $25,000 ride away for my 2008 street bob , i think there $23500 ride away now and actually have been for a while

People power for sure - no doubt they gauge the mood of owners by covertly reading these types of threads - If they do drop prices (big iff!!)  - it won't be because they feel they should by their own volition.

It's the price of parts & accessories I feel that have forced them into action - it's these items that really make the bacon for HD - HD Australia would be feeling the pain now big time as we are all mostly voting with our keyboards & buying O/S.

Bout time the man got a kickback. I've heard from a reliable source that HD Australia parts & accessory income is 42% down on the same period 2 years ago - in no small part to their belief that we have been conditioned to Australian pricing for parts & accessories.

They have the shits & have successfully lobbied for an embargo on US HD shops from posting items overseas or having their own shop ebay sites - the fools have brought this upon themselves by their arrogance & miss reading of the mood of its most loyal supporters.

With a client base getting older & not enough replacement riders in the younger generations - they are staring down the mortality of their actions.

Lets all hope sanity prevails & we can all ride our HD's without the bitter taste of betrayal in our mouths.

IMO, 2-3k price drop towards financial year does not justify the price difference btw oz and overseas. Unless they genuinely re-adjust their listed price we will never be able to realize the benefit. Anyway, wondering if we have a topic for everyone to tell about the prices they have paid for their HD and which dealer, so everyone would have a good idea where to go e.g I am looking to buy a vrod muscle soon...

Philonrsi, thanks for the pre-release. Someone at Haystac will have their ass in a sling for this. I love it.

It's just a start though. As bb92mm said, "IMO, 2-3k price drop towards financial year does not justify the price difference btw oz and overseas".

I looked at a Freightliner Century Prime Mover in San Diego a couple of years back (2009) cost to ship direct to Fremantle was quoted as $3000.00. But as I indicated that I was only tyre kicking he may have been tugging my chain. By the way the total price quoted for the truck included LH to RH conv and crating the truck paying import duties etc all I had to do was register it was about 1/3 of Australian Price.

The San Diego Dealer also told me he could arrange for Australian VIN compliance before it left the States.

He was keen and knew his onions had all the relivant legislation for Oz in his office.
