Got a tip off from a reliable source today that new Harley prices will drop significantly at the end of June. Good news for people in the market for new bikes. Not so good for us trying to sell our existing ones. But in general it's a good thing for the local consumers and industry. Also heard that parts will begin to be offerred at the same prices paid by people in the U.S. Bring it on!
Cheers, KC
Fanfuckingtastic. Great news!

Greygo Harley heard ya...
good news
People power for sure - no doubt they gauge the mood of owners by covertly reading these types of threads - If they do drop prices (big iff!!) - it won't be because they feel they should by their own volition.
It's the price of parts & accessories I feel that have forced them into action - it's these items that really make the bacon for HD - HD Australia would be feeling the pain now big time as we are all mostly voting with our keyboards & buying O/S.
Bout time the man got a kickback. I've heard from a reliable source that HD Australia parts & accessory income is 42% down on the same period 2 years ago - in no small part to their belief that we have been conditioned to Australian pricing for parts & accessories.
They have the shits & have successfully lobbied for an embargo on US HD shops from posting items overseas or having their own shop ebay sites - the fools have brought this upon themselves by their arrogance & miss reading of the mood of its most loyal supporters.
With a client base getting older & not enough replacement riders in the younger generations - they are staring down the mortality of their actions.
Lets all hope sanity prevails & we can all ride our HD's without the bitter taste of betrayal in our mouths.
So I don't double post I thought I'd just highlight that I've added a new comment to the "Price Gouging Exposed' thread.
See here.
$10,000 for a new Fatboy would be more appealing to me :-)
Yeh Rodders , its clearance time , but heh not bad prices some models have been reduced for a while , , but it had to happen , its the same with everything you can only gouge out so much before theres none left ,
This email came to me tonight
I looked at a Freightliner Century Prime Mover in San Diego a couple of years back (2009) cost to ship direct to Fremantle was quoted as $3000.00. But as I indicated that I was only tyre kicking he may have been tugging my chain. By the way the total price quoted for the truck included LH to RH conv and crating the truck paying import duties etc all I had to do was register it was about 1/3 of Australian Price.
The San Diego Dealer also told me he could arrange for Australian VIN compliance before it left the States.
He was keen and knew his onions had all the relivant legislation for Oz in his office.
