Hi, had a sad on thismorning when i found my battery was flat.  I must have left it switched on to accessories.

They reason i noticed it was the speedo needle was pointing at 220kph.

It is an 04 Carby Dyna Superglide.  It has no red "code light " on the speedo.  Im hoping that this speedo indication is a flat battery warning and not some other fault.

Im waiting for the battery to charge up, but any info is appreciated.

    Stay safe

    I listened and am offended.....lol

My days of 220kph went along with the ZX9R, and I dont miss either.

Battery looked to be toast, the 220kph thing appears to be a code logged. Got some codes out of it that say flat battery............durrrrr!

Ive had it on a battery optimiser and it raised from 6.2v to 12.4 and is still showing as taking charge according to the optimiser. So im hoping its all good. It was the first cold day since I bought the bike, so I hope its not a stuffed battery. Im not getting happy thoughts that the dealer will come to the party to replace it.......even after only 2 months.

Found out the speedo is a very clever little beast that records every code registered. Quite usefull for diagnostics once u find the way to pull them and the list of actual codes.

Heres hoping that I dont have to shell out more cash. Ive got shiney bits to order.

OK, battery charged 12.8v.  Had an initial indication on the speedo thatt said some thing like no sp bus?  Bike started and ran ok, but the speedo doesnt work.  The idicators flashed a few times very fast then went off.

Surely this cant all be as a result of a flat battery?

    Help........please help

I read some where on this site on how to reset the fault codes,I think the indicators flash to let you know theres a fault.Which would have been low voltage on everything. Its reset by the button on the speedo when the reset sign shows up.Check the workshop manual.good luck

Bike is all fine now that the battery is fully charged.  Got some strange smyptoms such as the no speedo issue.  I put the battery back on before it was FULLY charged and it seems that the speedo thing is as a result of the battery being discharged. Funnily enough, the speedo nedle was "creeping up" to 5 kph with thengine revs. Finished the cycle on the battery optimiser cleared all the codes and took it for a good run.  Now all is good.

Just hope it stays that way.  Its been good since
