I have paid my deposit and the finance is approved and I am about 2 - 3 weeks away from being an official "Harley Owner"... My wife blames you lot for telling me honest opinions about why a Harley is so good and securing my interest in becoming an owner. Proud of you!! hehe
I settled on the Iron 883, glossy black (a yellow one stripped and re-painted at the dealers expense) with the Harley shield-style badges on the tank, V&H short shots with S/E air intake and "performance tuning" stuffs...
It is currently being painted and next week will get the mods added to it for me to ride away in a few weeks. I'm pretty excited.
So insurance.... I'm thinking of getting the Harley Davidson insurance the dealer is offering (3 year new-for-old replacement to an agreed value if it is written-off or stolen). Is there other insurance people you lot reckon is a good deal? Are there things I should be looking at or looking out for with regards to insurance?
Also, how the fark am I gonna manage to carry a carton of beer from the pub to home on this thing?? My bottle-o is about 150m from home but its still too far to walk...
Touche....
A Big Congratulations mate, wish it was me, i'm still trying to convince the miss's, but i'm getting there! I'm keen to see some pictures of the finish on this bike...oh and what is the cost for insurance from HD?
Regards Andrew
well done
Congratulations. Great news. Re the missus, when people say to her things like "How could you let him do someting so dangerous" she is kind enough to say "He is at his happiest when he's on that bike". Ok..so she is starting to come out now with a bit of the old "I live alone" stuff, which grows into "You care more about that bike than you do me.." but still ok.
Here is the beer-carrier I had on my Iron
Have a good look at the paint job when you pick it up.... under the guards, frame etc....
Hate to notice any yellow down the track....
