running in question

    Ok, hardley a workshop question I know but anyway.

    Picked up the new 48 a few weeks ago....lovin it.

    Dealer gives gives me  'running in' instructions for first 1600k's

    Owners manual says 800k's

    Does my dealer know somthin that HD dosent?

    The owners manual supplied with my bike says, "The first 500 Miles (800 kilometers)"

    800klm=go cruisen

    1600klm=go beserk

    it really starts to feel like every thing is wearing in at around 2000 ks ,the more I ride it the better and better its feeling (and me too)
    at 1st I had no idea how to ride it really ,so I just took it easy for the 1st 500 ,every thing felt really tight then at bout 800-1000 a gave it a bit more and it was getting looser and smoother ,at about 1300-1600 it felt right to open it up a bit more and I also noticed it started sounding nicer ,at 2000 it purs along in most rev ranges and throws you off the seat if you give it a handful at the lights :)

    I havnt wrapped my wrist around the bar really hard yet,and doubt Ive taken it to red line ,but It has plenty of pull if ya just wind it out smoothly
