    G'day all,

Have just bought my first Harley after owning many jap bikes. I really like it, It has almost a live beating heart. This is my first time I have ever posted to a forum so I wont be surprised if I have stuffed it up. The bike is a wide glide with the flames on the tank. I have always loved the chopper look and I like how the bike sort of looks old school. I have alot of questions but I will wait and see if I have done this right. My bike is totally stock so I wont add a picture ( dont know how yet ). But I look forward to getting to know some of you, and getting your advice.

I'm in Townsville, I just made the 800ks run in today. I have nursed tha bike to this stage but I am so confused if I should ride it hard or nurse it to its first service. I have heard sooooo many different opinions!! If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very thankfull.

Car,bike ,outbourd whatever...The key is to vary the speed and dont let it lug. When you are a long run dont sit at the same speed for long

    G'day everyone,
Thanks for your welcomes. Looks like I wont have to go far for some good advice in the future. With regards to my bike I think I have done the right thing regarding running in. I understand lugging and try to avoid it and have tried to vary the revs without making the bike snatch ( by that i mean sort of leap if that makes sense? ) Now I have hit the 800K mark I visit the redline just now and then. A mechanic once told me - you can abuse a motor as much as you like, as long as you keep fresh oil up to it. I hope that's good advice! I live in Townsville to those who have asked. Once again thanks very much to all for the welcome.
