I have a fxdc 08. Had stock de baffled pipes that where a bit quiet and restricted the 08 I believe has the catalyptic converter. Put on vance and hines straight shots and found too noisey. OK when accelerating when at cruising speed 110 to 120 noisey as hell. Went back to stock de baffled and could feel restricted performance. Question. I am in NZ and choices are S+S or Screaming eagle st legal 49 state. Anyone know what sounds best? Are S+S as loud as vance and hines{to loud} or just right. Or maybe SE are good loud but not too loud. Any one know dont want to waste 600 bucks getting wrong pipes.
yelladawg , i heard the new Screamin Eagle pipes are not as loud as the old ones , dont know if this is true , i have a friends 883 with SE pipes that were new in 2007 , and there LOUD , so im not much help but im sure someone here will be able to help you. I have also heard that the Vance and Hines are loud ( too loud for some ).
i meant to add that im in Brisbane Australia , so it might be different over the ditch.
cool thanx for the advice.
worth trying something like these baffles ???

Was going to try myself in my V&H short shots ....just havent got around to it . getting use to the LOUD
I think the S+S is the way to go.The SE might be too quiet by the sounds of things. Do you reckon the S+S are ok nice rumble but not annoyingly so?
Cheers all will go the S+S slash out. Bit different everyone seems to have SE or V+H. Will let you know the results both noise wise and dyno wise between V+H straightshots and S+S slash out. Might take a few weeks bit low on funds tho. Cheers all ride on. Ian FXDC
