    Hi All,

Are there any HD shops in Melbourne that will discount a brand new 2008 model Superglide? Harley Heaven won't budge a dollar for a 2008 model.
Did any of you guys got any type of discounts when buying your Harley?

    Cheers

Well I guess I wont' bother spending anytime searching for that "lucrative" discount.  Afterall, if dealers discounted HD bikes, the resale wouldn't be what it is right now!!!

Since I am also planning on getting V&H big radius, race turner and filter they might succumb and give me 10-15% off on the accessories.

    Cheers

Sure, where can I buy all these from?
Is there a good online store that's reliable and stocks all of the above?

The big radius exhaust is $1390 at Harley Heaven. I think race turner and filter is almost another 1k.
Would dealer be willing to install the accessories purchased elsewhere?

How hard would it be to install all of these myself?

What is the approximate turn around when buying from Zanotti?

vladt.... also try More Power Racing

I purchased my Vance & Hines from there. Just checked the price against Zanoti's and More Power were cheaper for the same item. Postage between outlets may also vary. If you buy everything online then it is a standard freight price so more expensive than if you email and ask for pricing I guess. Anyway shop around. I had pipes and PCIII shipped parcel post as opposed to courier can sometimes result in clearing charges in Oz. Overall transit time took 14 days as i am guessing that they did not have pipes in stock. My only concern is that there is a slight blemish on the V&H stainless heat deflector... thats the risk but cannot complain. Comparitive V&H price for Big Shot Staggard $US500 v's $A1,250 in Oz. Even with $US220 freight still cheaper. By the way, if you buy pipes, air intake, fuel controller etc at same time frieght should be same. Hope this info helps.

For those interested there are a new set of V&H pipes with black powder coat heat shield and with respect to PCIII, there is now two versions, one is now reffered as Racing Vehicle Use Only which is what was the standard unit and then there is a new PCIII which accounts for the new polution control in Europe, California etc where at least a 1/3 of the MAP is not accessable. The 1/3 covers 0-50% throttle and 0-4K revs or thereabouts.

If you're a bit concerned about importing you could also try this guy in Oz. I contacted him several months back after looking at some of his new stuff on Ebay under the name rollingthunderpartsstore. His quick response to my question was:

Hi, pricing as follows. 2 weeks to get to you:

    V&H Big Radius for 91-05 Dyna $920
    V&H Big Radius for 06-07 Dyna $920
V&H Big Radius 2 into 1 Radius not available till late March 07.
You may also need V&H Fuelpak to adjust fuel curve instead of Screaming Eagle Download for EFI. I can do these for $330. Also can supply Arlen Ness Big Sucka Breather kit for $280. You can call me on 0414 222211 Nick

I didn't go ahead with my purchase for other reasons but I reckon he is worth a phone call.

When buying from the US it's good to get a group of 3 or 4 mates so you can order some reasonable volume of shiny bits to keep the freight rate to a sensible level. Even if you are stopped by Customs for GST you will be miles ahead of the Oz price. I have done this 5 or 6 times with no probs whatsoever. Usually the parts are landed at around 55-65% of the Oz shopfront price and often the same as the US shopfront price as seen on the HD site.

Pointless buying things like tyres as these are probably brought in by our dealers in some bulk considering most riders get their tyres from them anyway!

    PS Don't tell anyone....hehehehe... :))

Thanks for all your responses guys. I'll be test riding both Superglide Custom and Fat Boy this saturday and most likely will put a deposit on one of them.

    cheers
