I agree with Greygo that we are paying too much for the initial purchase and then the subsequent parts to trick up the bikes. But I do note that over the last decade the technology has improved and the prices stabilizing and now not being increased too much. In think that there has been a backlash for the high cost in Australia but they just can't reduce the cost dramatically without ruining the market. Also, Victory and Indian will be pushing into the market so HD will have to take care not to lose current or future purchasers.

I think that Greygo has a lot of support, and if the 10, 000 plus forum members coupled with HOG chapters and other interested riders signed some well written petitions we could make ourselves heard.

Just came back from Thailand, a new Street bob is 1,000,000 BHT there, thats about $40,000 AUD

My suggestion: just pay what is asked and try to enjoy yourself.

 

How long do you expect to live ?

Just priced footboards. $295. About $20 in materials and $5 labour ( made in China ) it is excessive even taking into account shipping and logistics and drop in the Oz dollar and dealer mark ups.
