Well having been a victim of a yellow sticker(Bindoon Drags) because of said pipes on a 2011 street bob(1st/11) I now have what "They call a Modification Permit"($82) which states my aftermarket V&H pipes(big radius2into2) are fitted and they meet noise emmision standards........Now here's the funny part i got the sticker from the gang crime sqaud and my bike WASNT even running (farking pond scum) anyway long story short they should never test your exhaust decibell reading on a REFLECTIVE SURFACE i.e bitumen,concrete or gravel it must be done on turf,rubber matting or damp compact sand and at certin rpm..... HOPE THIS HELPS PEOPLE and remember dont let the BASTARDS WIN........

How long does the "Modification permit" last for Smelly?

There is no time limit Willie but you must carry it with you at all times whilst on the bike.

another revenue perk ,soon we will need permits for any additions to the bike ffs including chrome ,next it ll be us ,reflective clothing and white helmuts

I can vouch for Smelly's account of what happened. No doubt we will see more of this happening in the future.

Similar thing happened to another rider outside the Westdale drags a few weeks before and he was much more polite than Smelly

Pulled into Maccas for a coffee last sunday , and just happened to be the same time as a pair of the boys in blue . while i sat there with a coffee and a smoke they walked up and commented on the bike and how good it sounded ......with V&H shot shots ! no problem .........

Gday all, i was pulled over by the GCS(gang crime squad or POND SCUM to most) on thursday 2-6-11 the dog started writting me a sticker for the pipes when i produced said permit, after he looked at it and asked where i got the permit from, which i replied it doesnt matter where it came from it was a legal document, he wrote the sticker for my AIR CLEANER instead what a joke......Stay safe all....

What could he write up the AC for? Just because it's not OEM?

Where do I go? What do I do? to get one of these permits.....Cause I reckon I'll need one

OSP1340 mate you have it in 1... because it,s not stock..............Big H, any transport department/pits can issue ALL the permit's you need for a price of course=$86 for the permit for the pipes and they will do a sound test and robert is ya mothers brother, permit MUST be carried on you at ALL times whilst out on the bike.... But and here is the catch, You can have ALL the permit's in the world and IF and i,m talking IF the offending officer thinks thats right thinks that a nut or bolt on your bike is illegal he/she/pond scum can sticker you ANYWAY.... gee some times i scratch my heads as to why i served my country as to allow this CRAP to take place........ any way just dont let the bastards win.................

I'd be interested to know what happens when you go in to get a permit and they won't give one cos the bike is too loud or the AC is not right!!!

Do you then get a canary and or need to get a trailer to get it out of there??

Fella's you can get a permit for ANYTHING modified on your bike BUT if the copper's(pond scum)THINKS a bolt or nut MIGHT be illegal he CAN still sticker the bike.......But once the transport department note that your bike is 100% legal they will ask the offending officer to Please Explain.....And another one for you to remember is if they state it must go to a certain inspection station it all bullshit, i was told and it was written on my defect notice MUST BE INSPECTED AT WHELSHPOOL well i fucked them and had it done in my local country shire as thats where i live and thats the LAW.... So i now say to the Gang Crime Sqaud SUCK MY BIG FAT UNWASHED ARSE..............Sticker gone AGAIN.........Dont let the barsted's win.........

ps i met a lot of goods guys heard some great stories and got very drunk when i went to Canberra for the Vietnam veterans memorial dedication in 98 i was a next of kin guest to represent my uncle who was with 7RAR in 68. Thanks again 

THANX FOR SOME OF THAT INFO SMELLY,    I TOO HAVE V&H BIG RADIAS PIPES AND I LOVE EM, AND IM STICKING WITH THEM NO MATTER WHAT !     THAT MAKES TWO BIG FAT UNWASHED SMELLY ASSES THEY CAN SUCK.......    BETTER TO DIE ON YA FEET THAN LIVE ON YA KNEES.!
