just want to let all know if riding on the NSW south coast, there is a section of road just south of Tilba on the Princess Hwy & just before the Bermagui turn off onto Bermagui Rd that has claimed at least 6 bikes in the last 2 weeks [ that i know of]

the RTA has done a repair on a corner where they have coated cracks in road with tar. this section is approx 1m wide & is 50m long. it is on apex of RH corner & un rideable on on motorbike when road is wet. i hit it at 100kph [ & yes the road was damp] & i was down before i knew it.i have been riding motorbikes for nearly 30 years & this was my 1st accident. i had my wife on as pillion & we both slid approx 100m down the road. luckily no real injuries BUT bike is not so good.

I will 2nd the 'get in touch with the RTA'  via a lawyer bit. There is no way you should be inconvenienced in any way because of non signed change of road surface like the one you have posted. Keep a record of all the time you spend on repairing the bike, including time waiting for 'insure my ride' to answer their phones, it is all claimable fromt he RTA.

    Hi Lost
i have had legal advice on my accident. Sounds stupid but i have been told that because my wife & i were not seriously injured we have no case. But now that i have done the correct thing & reported road to RTA with phone calls & emails with pictures, if & when someone else comes off & gets hurt they will have a case. How f...ked is that !!
