    what compression should i have on low comp model 1340 shovelhead.

    hard to get exact details, but i believe  no lower than 100psi up to about 130 psi. as close to even is ideal

    Depends on what pistons, cam, how old the engine is, lot of variables, what have you got?, within 10% of each other, tspoon of oil in plug hole and test if it jumps up re ring it, if not valve job.

    asking because not sure about it,did a test and found 88psi in both cylinders,but bike seems to be running ok,may be i stuffed up test,will do again,still leaning about these bikes,thanks for asking

    88 is low. make sure the throttle is wide open and wind the motor over at least 4 or 5 times to get a reading.

    ok i stuffed up just tried again with better gauge and got 115psi in both cylinders,did it a couple of times and was the same each time,bit happier now,thanks for help davep.
