How waterproof are they?  I wear Draggin' Jeans mostly when riding and would like something nicer than plastic overpants

Hi there...just wondering if you can help me with sizing. If I am an AU 10/12, vary 58 - 63 kg depending on what is going on in my life, would the US 10 powertrip black diamond overpants be the right size for me? I just want to wear normal jeans/shorts underneath. Hope you can help!
