I prefer the PC-V..... get it tuned once and properly on a dyno by a competent professional and then forget about it and just RIDE. I personally don't have the time or the inclination to stuff around trying to tune the bike myself, but thats just me. Most folk here seem to prefer the TTS, so it must be a good product. Personal choice really.

You hit the nail on the head Yosi, trying to find a guy in Brisbane that can give me the HP out of the TTS. I have met a guy that can do it with the PCV. He showed me dyno results of 84HP from a 1200 48 with A/C and exhaust where I am around the 75 mark after V-tunes using a dyno.  I must be doing something wrong or is the PCV that much better??

sssmour, it sounds to me like the dynos are calibrated differently, one is running way hot. Not unheard of. If not, it is more a function of the tuner skill here than the tool. Every dyno is different and numbers can vary hour to hour, day to day as power number are also effected by the environment and dyno calibrations. Numbers from one dyno can easily be 10hp off from another.

A great pro tuner can get more WOT power out than a mediocre tuner regardless of the system he is using, but tuning for WOT power is the easy part. If you are looking to win a barstool competition, then the PC III or V can get you almost there. A competent tuner using more sophisticated tools would probably get you another HP or two because he can also toy with timing and fine tune for your specific cam. But this is all skill. You will get more of a difference in numbers from dyno to dyno.

If you think the highest dyno sheet number is the best tune, find a dyno that is adjusted to read high. Then proudly show it off it at the corner bar. :)

If you want to win street races, given close driver skills, you would have better results with a competent tuner that uses a more sophisticated tool. Anything is much better than stock, however.

Now the difference between an amateur using A PCV with canned maps vs one that VTunes is perhaps 2 WOT horsepower on identical bikes. (WOT HP is an easy tune)

I have a powercommander V with the autotune and it works well.
If any aftermarket system is set up properly then they will give a similar result on the road, remember they arn't Moto GP bikes being ridden on a track.
