Limit1 When looking at the bike it is the middle bolt that bolts into the top of the gearbox casing snapped completly through.

Yeap forks are covered as the crome covers are chipping the paint.

Since I last posted I have been told, that they are waiting on parts, then the service manager done the bolt leaving a mess, but I was told its still all go just waiting on the parts.
Today I was told that they were still getting a quote together to send to HD for approval, apparently the last service manager told a lot of cutomers that they were covered under warranty before he done the bolt, leaving them in a shit fight.

Its well and truly fucked living in a town with only one dealer.

Limit1 have they completed your work yet?

    Mate,

I wouldn't have been as 'understanding' as you have been with the dealer. I mean, It's one thing for a company to have a shithouse service manager, and I'f he was that much of a moron, telling porky pies to customers and leaving them in the lurch, that isn't your problem. It's theirs.

These sort of issues really get under my skin owing to the fact I have been fucked about in a similar way with my ski-boat. I was in your position, just wanting the thing fixed and all I got were excuses. Ended up having a summons drawn up for small claims court to get my money back, and wouldn't you believe it, my boat was fixed properly and they returned my money.

But those pricks already blew any chances of positive word of mouth from me to anyone I know. Would have cost them far more in lost business than whatever my court case would have taken from them.

It'd be good for you to get a positive resolution from your dealer mate. No-one should get fucked about like this with the time and money you have invested in their business.

    Good luck mate.

Thanks for your post. As much as I am really pi#4ed with PS and HD, I have lost more important things in my life, that kind of keeps me grounded.

HD Aus said they would look into the matter although they also came up with a bunch of execuses. PS basically said this wouldn't have happend if the bike was serviced by them as they would have tightend them on a regaular basis. Well, my response to this is, one: the bolt sheared off, this means know matter how tight the bolts were they were going to fracture at some point anyway and two: my bike was in at PS 3 days before hand getting warranty work done to the exhaust and they didn't even pick up that the bolts had a problem.

I would not ever recommend PS to anyone, for anything. Harley City will be my next point of call for anything local I need.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

To all those waiting to hear about S&S easy start cams, they are excellent. The only thing is if you are going to turn a 96 into a 103 with these cams, just stick with the chain cams to save some money and dont forget to upgrade your lifters.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And all warranty work has been completed 8 weeks later. Thanks to HD for hounring the warranty. But really, come on, 8 weeks to get replacement parts and put back together is beyond a joke.

Thanks calais,I try not to get angry as it will not get me anywhere.
I went into the shop and spoke to the parts bloke who I know. The service manager has directed the parts bloke to price each part seperately and then provide the service department with each part number and price. They will then contact HD for approval.
This seems a fucked way of going about things but I have to play the game to have a win

Limit1 glad yours has been fixed. I have already past the eight week mark and counting. At least you have another dealer you can go to,we only have the one up here.

    Ok here's an update,

Just heard from the shop and HD will only cover parts. Told them I am not happy and advised others had their bikes fixed under warrenty so why not in this case. Service manager had no answer for this and is going to look into it.

Now where do I go from here? as I have never had a warrenty claim before and really thought it would be all good. WAFFAI

Keep on them mate, If the parts are fucked (which is why they offered to cover them) why should you have to pay to have them fitted?

Don't let these pricks push you for cash!
