About the same, it depends on your tune and build I suppose. Mine runs at 200F never over even at High speed. Although a hot day plays merry hell with the temps.

Purchased a Oil level & Temperature Dipstick with lighted LCD readout on my last trip back to Oz to put some kilometers on the Street Bob. Noted that the temp varied from around 90degC to 140degC depending on the temp/weather and location. The lower temp was cool weather with some showers and the high temp was city running stop/start with an ambient temp of around 34degC. Running the standard HD Oil without oil cooler and the bike has around 60K on the clock.

Did a comparison to a softy with oil cooler and there was only 10degC difference but the checks were only conducted in cooler environment.

Thinking that the 140degC is pretty hot and would be keen to do a further comparison with other bikes that have an oil coller when I get back to see if the difference is greater than 10degC when the temp gets over say 120degC.

there is another oil temp thread here... www.hdforums.com.au/Default.aspx that I posted the above on
