During my regular inspection of my bike (prior to Easter weekend ride) I noticed that my drive belt has got bits missing and is about to shit itself...

No probs you might say....Even though it's a PITA to replace...Rung my local dealer to secure a new one for me 07 FXST, sorry was the reply we don't have any in stock!! be two to three weeks to get one in... OK!!!...so I ring the dealer I bought the bike of.....Sorry we don't stock this belt, you will have to pay for it and we will order it, should be here in two to three weeks. I was told by both dealers that there are too many variable belt sizes to stock them all...This coming from an industry that makes millions selling bright shinny new bikes FFS...

And here we are debating the whatever of importing bits from OS.....

M&M have just got another sale....Parts will be here in ten days, delivered to my door.

Just a little update on how realy screwed the system is....

I was quoted 177 usd for a HD drive belt, and about 30 usd for shipping, with dollar being over parity 1.07 au to the usd the bloody belt is going to cost me about 200 au landed at my door. The dealer here in WA quoted me $328 and I have a 200k round trip to pick it up, when it gets here in three weeks time...from the farking Eastern states...this realy is WTF....Not only don't they have a belt in stock, it's going to cost me $128 more and I've got to wait & spend a half a tank of fuel to get it...

The oher issue with local dealers is that they don't at all display any urgency and try to help out...Seems it's stiff shit, we will get it when were ready...To now I've always had a pretty positive attitude and gave them the benefit of the doubt but this is a real wake up call, and very dissapointing.

Totally agree! Mark at M&M is tops. I've also been getting stuff/parts from St Paul Harley, via US EBay - very good prices and very quick delivery to Aust
