Got mine for $378 with GIO. Still hurts, but not as much......Oh yeah, I am over 40 with a clean driving record.

Yup, 419 with insuremyride for me too. Over $100 cheaper than GIO and Allianz.

So much for the 'cheaper liability insurance' the state government promised when they privatised this COMPULSORY insurance. Does any one else smell a kick back to mates deal going on here? ( maybe the same deal as the health fund price reveiw panel????? )

Lots of factors change the price

    - Age group of rider

    - metropolitan or regional areas

    - age of bike

    - comprehensive insurance status

    - at fault claims last 2 years

    - They have changed the categories of engine displacement in the last 12 months adding more, so now an 883 is cheaper than a 1200.  This is what has changed that has caused the big cost increase.

    - Companies that do greenslips underwritten by someone else will use slightly different rating factors

Greenslips are regulated by MAA, they have the current prices for major players, you can do a calculation online

Steamer, a bit better than the rip off $740 I got stuck with with QBE compared to GIO's $450 if I'd had the sense to shop around. It'll be a different story next time.
