Hi All.  I have just stumbled across this forum and think that it is a great idea to have an Aussie HD Forum.  I ride a 2007 FXD Superglide with a few go fast mods.  I look forward to contributing and learning from the forum. Thanks to Kingchops for going to the effort to put this together.

Welcome to the forum Bull and thanks very much for the compliments!

Yes, I thought it was pretty amazing that there was no specific forum for Harley riders in Australia, so I set up this site. Hopefully the site can become a good resource for local information and issues.

Be sure to post some info about your bike and any mods you have done, pics would also be great.

    Hi Y'all,
I've just put a deposit on a new 08 FLHRC, so I suppose I'm a Harley owner in waiting. I read with interest your thoughts on the read shock "nobody". Other than wanting a lowered look, why did you ditch the standard Road King air shocks? Are the standard shocks not up to it? If so, I'd be knocking on the door of H-D for some answers.
I also see that you have braided brake lines. Do they improve the feel and power of the front brakes enough to warrant the expenditure? I'm interested in your feedback.
    Thanks
    Pedro

    Hi Pedro
Can't comment on the shocks but I have a full set of braided lines. I put them on all my cars and bikes where I can. THey will last longer, deal with heat better, and are a hell of a lot harder to sever than the standard lines. They look good too.

    Hi Pedro

Nice to hear from another well nearly FLHRC owner. As far as the standard shocks are concerned,it depends what your expectations are.Like most mass produced vehicles, things are fitted that are a compromise between function and price. The standard shocks just didn't give me the ride I wanted or expected. Most are perfectly happy with their standard setup, and I respect their choice, but for me I wanted better and I knew I could get more.Getting it at a reasonable price was what I looked at.And I can't fault the setup I have at the moment.

Can't say I notice any freat difference regards brake feel at the moment, but I don't ride the brakes that hard anyway. The bike is relatively new and so were the original hoses. It is when they get a bit older and then you add braided lines that you really notice the difference.I also had braided lines on my old EVO Heritage and it made a monumental difference to  the brake feel. But if you are hard on the brakes and get them hot, that is where you will appreciate the braided lines.

    cheers
