It all started a couple of Sunday’s ago when I was getting ready to go for a ride. I pressed the loud button and it didn’t start first time. When I pressed the second time all I got was a click.
I thought it battery may be a bit weak so I fully charged it, no difference.
I checked all the fuses with a meter and they are all good
I made sure I was getting 12 volts to the solenoid when the start button is pressed.
So I then suspected that the starter motor may have shit itself so I swapped that out for another one. Still no joy.
What next, or do I just get it collected by the dealer?
I should add that the bike is a flood victim and went partially under in January. The water go to the lower edge of the fuse box. All was checked out post flood and it had been running fine since then up until all this.
Any advice or ideas are most welcome.

Happened to my Ford Falcon yesterday, tried to start it all it did was click, checked the battery 12.5 volts, called RACV, they put a tester on the battery came up stuffed, he said although i had 12.5 v it was stuffed because it could not supply the cranking amps, $170 later new battery all good now. Word of warning, jump started my old shovel yrs ago off a car and cooked my starter.
had it happen to the BUELL and the HARLEY both batteries had 12.5 volt in them but no crank amps
harley would only get one start then dead the buell just clicked like described
2 new batteries later problem solved all good
batteries dont last forever
7 years out of buell battery
2 years out of harley battery
Have a look at this thread, it may help.
