G,day all, First time in so i hope i'm on the rite trak. broke three spokes on the rear wheel of my '79 lowrider, got the new ones to replace them going to do five of them one extra each side of the three as recomended by the shop, got the jig,got the lowdown on how to do the job but forgot to ask what tension to set them at, a mate told me to give this forum a go he's a member and reckons this is the place to get the good goss, so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
+1 on doing the tension by sound.
The torque wrenches aren't common, and are therefore expensive.
55 in-ibs is what the current sportster manual calls for actually a torque screwdriver is what is required thats why there is the slot in the back of the nut.
Mate if you got a torque wrench set a screw at the correct torque and mark it, undo it then use your cordless drill to see which clutch setting will get to the mark thats it.
Good luck with it mate
