Whats it doing that is making you think they are gone, my 08 is doing some weird shit like the back wheel is slightly buckled (but its solid wheel so id say near impossible) but has no movement side to side.

Closer inspection reveals I do have a collapsed bearing.  At 12000kms.  A mate who worked in a harley shop once told me I should repack them as they don't do it properly at factory...and I thought he was just being paranoid.

Changed my rear bearings today was difficult getting the collapsed one out, bearing was all in pieces with only 4 balls left.  Other side was together but worn out and despite grease being visible, had a lot more resistance than the new SKF bearings I put in.

I'll be doing the front ones as well soon.

Well I noticed on freeway that it felt like it was swaying.  After comparison with new bearings it must have been getting progressively worse, as it now changes gears smoother (felt like primary was a bit loose before, but it wasn't) and handles better than I can remember.  It never had any sideways movement when I tried to wiggle the wheel.  Looked like this couple days before I pulled it apart.

i assume it is bearings, my bike has done 37K, and slight roaring noise from rear wheel, increases significantly when turning right, not so much when turning left, i suppose could be rear tyre but it seems ok, otherwise will wait till next service coz i dont have the tools to fix it myself. thanks..
