I am after some advice on fitting ape hangers to my 48. Anyone have any adivce, espcially about cable lengths for a set of bars about 14-16"?
Did you get a kit? Where from? Did you fit your self? Any probs? Where and what bars do you get? Got any photos?
Cheers
Hey Dude,
Check out Nash Motor Co in the states.
They make some gnarly bars and kits - I think a few of the lads here have 'em.
Thanks for your advice so far guys.
I acctually couldnt work out what bars I wanted on it. So I decided to take my time with it and make that stage 3. So I purchased a side mount plate kit, springers seat in black and some SE ignition leeds instead. I all ready have a V&H shortshot staggered on it and forward facing SE high flow filter.
Now I have to start saving again for the bars and other things I want to do it. If I could work out how to put a pick up I would. hahah

LOVE the look of your bike in your profile. Is that yours? Any chance of getting some better photos? Also, what brand apes and how much did they cost you?
Mate I had a look at those Burly Bars. Very intresting and I might be buying off them yet. I also am going to go and see Mild To Wild Custom Motorcycles in Sydney over the next couple of days and see what they say.
But thanks everyone for your input so far. I appreciate it!
cable kits from burly for what ever size apes you're after.

You should be able to do it yourself, take your time & probably take a weekend to complete.
thanks 883...
I have decided on the 16". I just ordered them from Licks Cycles http://www.lickscycles.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=34&products_id=1850
I am still not sure of them. But I emailed them and asked for photos on bikes and they could not suply, even though there service so far has been great. I also find it hard to belive that they fit my bike with only a 5" center, but they asure me they do. So time will tell and I cant wait to get all this stuff fitted to my bike.
Photos will be put up once they do.
Hey guys,
Well I finally have them on.
I have learned a bit doing it too... Like dont use Licks Cycles in the USA. But that is another story!
The bike has already changed since this pic and it is poor quality. But this is my first photo post and has already taken me about an hour. hahahhaha.
I will take some better more recent pics of the bike and put them in the show me your sportster section later.
