Hi All,Harvey Mushman here, back with his next installment of noob question time.........
With all of the bikes I have owned in the past,I rarely use the Off/Run kill switch (except in whatever emergency).I have only ever used the key switch to stop and start the engine. With the ignition off,it made no difference what position the kill switch was in.
My question is - with my HD even with the main tank switch off,and my key fob out of range, what is it that I can hear energise ? when I switch the kill switch to the "Run" position, then hear it de-energise ? when I switch it back ? I thought with the fob out of range, everything was disabled.Am I going to burn out any relays or reduce standing battery power if I leave the switch in the "Run" position ? My apologies for the questions, but if ya don't ask......
I very rearly use my kill switch always just use the ignition switch and it has never done any harm to either of my bikes. If you have a newer bike that noise you are hearing is likely to be the computer diagnostic thing it makes a buzzing type noise for a few seconds when you first turn the ignition on..........................but then i know bugger all about bikes just love to ride lol
Cheers

I was told when i brought my first ever new Harley from a dealer not to use the kill switch as i costs a fortune to replace
