I'm thinking of organising a charity poker run but I have never been on one let alone organised one before.

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips/traps I should be aware of.

I am also wondering about the following:

1. What entry cost would you think is resonable?

2. Are there public liability issues? The ride would be mainly in Vic with perhaps a short leg in NSW.

3. What coningency plans should we have in the event of bad weather?

Anything else you can think of.

There is a charity poker run on ANZAC day that leaves from Noriel Park (Albury), goes for about 200km. Come along if you can make it as all are welcome. This will be my first run as well so I'm looking forward to it, if you decide to go ahead with organising a poker run give me a shout as I would be happy to help out

Just posted the info up in the NSW and VIC organised ride section of the forum. I will be trying to catch up with a few mates before heading over to Albury
so will most likely organise a meet up at the Caltex Servo (Wimpy's).

I'll be driving back from Mansfield on that day but if I leave early enough I should be able to get home and pick up the bike in time. Don't know if I'll make it to Wimpy's, might have to go straight there.

Here in the States when I organize a run which consist of bikers from all over the Country, I have them sign a waiver releasing me of any liability.

Thanks, TC. Went on my first poker run today so at least I now know what it's like. Still don't know if I will be doing it though. I'm yet to find out if the charity is interested and then I would have to find a group interested in helping to organise/run it!

 I've decided to ditch the poker run idea and just have a ride in support Granya House drug and alcohol rehab centre.
