I'm quite the fan of painting a racing style number on my bike, like I've seen on a few other examples:
My question is, what is the significance of some of these numbers? I know 48 is a model by HD, but why is it called that? What about the other commonly used numbers? I have a personal relationship with the number 13 (amongst other reasons, I am not at all superstitious, so I love the irony of using 13 as my lucky number).
I just dont want to miss the point and use a number that is the international HD symbol for f/wit or something.
Any thoughts?

Some would say having any race look on a street bike is wanky, some love it.
If you dig it, do it.
Lucky 13 is common enough to be safe - as with tattoo, rock n roll and hot rod culture (ace of spades/ rolling dice - lucky 7/ lady luck/ horse shoe and so on).
