Wasn't sure where to post this - Softail photo's, Photo's, News - so thought fuckit - I'll whack it in here.
A mate dropped by on this today -
Shop demo - 25km's on the clock. I read the thread when these things were released and I was a bit ambivolent.
In the flesh they look shit hot. Riding position is OK. Never been a big fan of the "ram horn" bars and they are a bit of a reach forward but on the short ride I did (20kms) they were fine. This was a mix of highway speeds (approx 110kmh ) and main street bog lap speeds. Long distances might be a different story.
Handling is great with the narrower rear tyre however the "hero pegs" (those metal dangly bits under the footpegs) touch down real early in slow roundabout situations.
Pulls real well - smooth as fuck and the 6 speed box is very slick. You can literally pull the clutch in with one finger. Very nice.
ABS - didn't really notice it on the ride i did - that's probably a positive.
I actually liked the blacked out rocker boxes and primary, rims, bars etc. - I remember reading that someone on this forum wasn't keen on the finish.
Overall I reckon it's a good bike. I would prefer it over the fat arsed overweight Softail Custom but if I had $29k it might not be my first choice.
Thanks to Paul at SWHD for the opportunity to take it for a ride.
