wot model bike is it?. belt primary? stock etc.
i cant see any reason for fitting the defelector anyway. if all the seals are in place there shouldnt be any need for one. 84 would have the old style solenoid facing forward in the primary cover and is protected by a rubber boot. and the jack shaft assy is fitted through the primary via a seal. if it is for chain oil and crap from the drive chain, it is again protected by a seal. i have an 85 wide glide running the same set up and i have never fitted or had an oil deflector on it. my bike is still on its original starter motor etc and has done over 400000ks.
