Hi all,

Am looking at buying a 2007-2009 streetbob, can someone tell me if there good on the highway or better around town or both, Like the look of them but unsure of which way to go. currently most of my riding is around town but am hoping to get out do a few trips away this year...  any thoughs would be great    good vs bad......

Hey Mate,

I've got an 08, and aside from a bunch of issues (hopefully) relating to an accident (car ran a red) I think she's a great bike. It's my only ride, and I commute on her every day, then flog her on weekends - or head up the coast.

I've got the detachable panniers, which really make a difference on longer trips; and a decent sissy bar will let you stack all the more.

My one piece of advice would be to grab a detachable screen for longer trips. I find the arm position on the miny apes can get a little tiring after a few thousand Ks (with the wind smashing your shoulders a bit) - but that's just my opinion.

 

yeah go for it, just get detachable sceen and sissy bar for longer trips and take them off around town. Best of both worlds. Look good at the pub and do it easy on long trips

Great for both, mine handles great at all speeds with wider stickier tyre and heavier fork springs & oil, no problems at all after 3.5 years, excellent buy, love it heaps

yes mate good choice i have one and it kicks arse you wont beat em but you can stay right up their arse on the twisties.

make em think a little bit. arrogent little rice bikers

I have 2010 streetbob and love it . Had a sporty and a road king before, sporty= good for round town not good for two up or long trips, roadking great for long trips solo or two up ok for around town ( Im not that tall). StreetBob=great around town, long trips, two up.
For around town and weekends solo I take the pillion seat, windshield and bags off, that takes about 5mins. For long trips or two up I put it all back on. Best of both worlds
