the stage II genuine HD cams are good from what Ive heard and they are a lot cheaper than a lot of the other options out there. There is heaps of people that have done the mod in the US but only a handful here. I am considering it as well.

If you are going to get the HD ones, the best prices I got were from Zanotti HD and Chicago HD in the US. They were almost half price to what they charge here.

It has a nice lumpy idle which I like.

The fuel economy at cruise would be unaffected but I assume it would use more but isn't that noticable

When my bike was fitted with cams they also fitted exhaust and SE race tuner. There was a mixup with exhaust and the competition 2 into 1 was fitted by mistake. Power was good but way too loud plus I didn't like the look. The correct slip ons were then fitted and retuned resulting in a drop in power from 125 to 117 hp...but the common torque dip mid range was reduced so the bike rides better and feels almost as quick anyway.

Red curve is Bike fitted with V&H 2 into 1 exhaust Blue curve is with the V&H Competition slipons. Don't have the original power run

Talking to the dealer they mentioned the had a SE cam kit on sale for $500 ish (from memory) so give Frasers in Perth a call incase they still have them

    Cheers

Cheers for the dyno sheets ... really interesting to compare the power differences between pipe set ups , think could live with 7 less HP cause i have heard those 2 into 1 V&H pipes and they are ridiculous ...

My ride is a stock '10 night rod special, and have been looking at doing a little work. Have been considering k&n filter, SE tuner and TAB pipes? How much difference between having cams fitted as well, compared to what i wish to install? I'd probably look at the rear shocks before cams? Either way i'm HAPPY with my ride.

I've put a deposit on SE Stage II cams, and am now thinking about getting the 58mm throttle bodies as well...and possibly the higher flow fuel injectors.
This will all happen in about a month or so when the bike goes for its next service. I have a TAB airfilter and slip-ons.
Has anyone done this? I want to go try the bike out at Kwinana Motorplex come summer...see if I can still manage a half decent launch after 30 years
    away from drag racing:)

I've just fitted the TAB package to my NRS. Air filter, slip-ons ( non baffled ) and fuel manager. Purchased from TAB in the states ( $ 660, delivered to Adelaide ) . Todd at TAB has been excellent to deal with. They reckon about 8-10 hp gain, which is about right, you do notice the gain. One problem i can't get the "engine check lamp" to go out? Also, had to rich up on the Low rpm range on the fuel manager.

I had a SERT installed instead of the TAB fuel manager. Main reason was I didn't like the idea of a "piggy-back" on the ECU, and I didn't want to lose the diagnostic functions. No complaints about the TAB slip ons or the airfilter, I bought mine from the Australian TAB agent. When did your engine check light start coming on? Straight after you installed the TAB fuel manager? have a look on 1130cc.com you should find something useful.

Todd ( TAB USA ) has supplied the "V-Rod Engine Code Diagnosis Steps" with all the codes etc. I'll try and run through the diagnosis on the weekend. The engine check light came on straight after fitting. Todd reckons i've left something unplugged? I've checked all connections, might just need re-setting. If i can't sort it i might look at a SERT. I'll look on 1130cc.com when i can.

i run identical set up as SR09 and he is correct .... its a weapon !!!! unless you want to go mental fast i would not spend on cams and look at suspension instead ....

SWEET ...... be very interested on POWER gains with these 2 mods ....... i assume parts not too much but how many hours to fit and a re dyno would be in order too i would expect ????
