The week before last  Roger 2006 1200 sportster owner and myself 1990 883 sportster owner  did a rpound trip Coraki NSW to Warwich QLD. We both run the 42 mm Micuni flat slide carby. Both bikes produced very similar performances and what is outstanding both used the same amount of fuel. The 1200 is low top RPM and the 883 is high RPM both have very different gearing and we did not spare the horses. Any one out there with a similar test outcome?

Hmmm sounds strange dont it. 42 mm is a big carb for a sporster.??

i run the same carby 42mm my mate with 1200 std . We use about same fuel @ 120 but @ 100 he uses less

If it runs well it must be ok, the carby that is.
