Just bought a new 2011 Fatboy and the embossed leather part of the seat and the matching siisybar pad (bought new with the bike) are a grey colour. The saleman gave me a story that this is a compound that will wear off in time.  I was wondering if anyone else has had this experince or I have been given old stock??

Don't think there's much you can do to stop the wearing,unless you dont ride it.Looks nice though.

Well its not in a place thats going to get rubbed much at all ,

Took the bike back to the dealer today. The owner of the dealership was not aware of the probelm, but not impressed that a bike would be delivered like this. He is sorting things out.

Will update thread on result when sorted.

 

The local dealer has sorted out the colouring. He ordered another new one in and it looked the same. Using a leather conditioner, the colour has been removed, and is now black. We wonder why Harley would present them with the residue on.
