First time poster and have 48 on order.  I am obsessed with it since ordering and have been checking out mods, accessories etc.  I have decided to put on Vance & Hines Short Shots and RSD Venturi Speed 5 Air Cleaner.......from what I have read the SE Race Tuner is probably the go but requires Dyno Tune from dealer but I wanted to ask the question whether any of the other brands are OK eg: Vance & Hines FuelPak, Power Commander etc.

I am not planning on doing any other engine mods for now so the self programmable FuelPak type ECU's are appealing as I could install pipes, air cleaner and fuelpak myself and save a bundle.

Also, I want to get the tank resprayed.........can anyone recommend someone in Canberra?

    Thanks

Thanks for the response fellas.  After alot of searching and reading various forums and internet sites I have decided on getting the Rinehart Cross Back flush exhaust, the TTS Mastertune ECM tuning tool but still unsure whether to get Joker Machine smooth black air cleaner or the Kuryakyn Hi Five Mach2 air cleaner.  Gonna get these from M and M Cycles in the states, great service and awesome prices even with shipping.  May have to order in a couple of shipments to sqeeze past Customs and not pay duty coz I am also ordering new pegs, grips, spring seat, dark covers and flush fuel cap .

Main reason I am going this way is that I can install everything myself and tune to my specific setup with the aid of TTS program.  Also I can back up the standard tune map so if there is ever an issue with the bike I can put back on standard equipment reload the standard ECM map for warranty.

You got that one right Rodders.

We fitted SE Breather/ Exhaust/ and Pro tuner and I can tell you that it bogies off the lights bloody good.

They like to rev, so ride it like you stole it.

Thanks for your comments fellas.  After a bit more research and speaking with others I am going to change my original idea and will be going with D&D Bobcat 2 into 1 exhaust, a Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather AC and will be teaming it up with a Thundermax EFI with Auto Tune.  I don't see the point in paying for Dyno and/or dealer loaded map when this system will continuously diagnose and adjust accordingly as the bike needs.  I know it is more expensive up front but costs will get recovered pretty quickly when you take into account labour and Dyno cost at a dealer.

Anyone have any experience with fitting and/or using the Thundermax on a Forty Eight?
