After stopping at  Sprint Autos just prior to Xmas at 5.30 in the arvo I was shocked to get a fine in the post for $170.00 from the Campbelltown council which I had to pay and I did .(i actually didnt even enter the store ).The council informed me that they have a contract driver with a camera mounted in the car and he cruises around snapping at cars that a stopped.

I read up a bit on the law and founf that under Australian design rules the Bike Lane Signs do not  meet the Australian Standards for no parking. So I wrote to the council and pointed it out and guess what ...I have now recieved a cheque for $170.00 from the council with no letter or admission of liability from them cos they know its wrong.I believe that the government have now changed the law from 1st of Feb.So if you know anyone that has copped a fine prior to that date tell them to go see the council and they will haVe to refund the money...The pricks wont do it until you ask !!

P.S, It only applies to the bike lanes that are not 24 hour ones

If anyone wants to know what to say you can P.M. me

    Regards VMAX
