Riding an '07 Sportster 883C. It is not the only bike in the shed, but it is the only Harley.
I see and hear the 'its a girls bike' comment all the time, but I dont get it. If it is a shot at a bloke for riding a non >1000cc bike, then there are a lot of us out there. If it is because a bloke should only ride the biggest cube bike you can get - then I dont have that penis size issue! If it is because the bike is comfortable to ride, easy to control and has a low seat , I dont see how that makes it a girls bike as I and many others like those qualities on a bike as well.
The seat height was the criteria for me, I dont need more cubes for how I ride ( I can, and have, scraped the long bolts both sides on the Zl1000, and the K100 is off the road because I went a bit too deep into a corner and ran out of tyre) or where I ride. So far it has proved to be a great one up cruiser and occasional commuter bike. I dont need or want a car engine on my bike.
Best bit - was been giving lots of freindly ribbing about riding a HD on a group ride about 12 months ago. So at one stop I gave the keys to the bloke and told him to go for a run. He and his wife now have matching Sportser 1200s! ( they still have their Goldwing)

Hey lost.
Welcome to the forum.
Plenty of sporty lovers here. When you come from smaller, lighter and faster bikes it seems the best first option for a cruiser with some handling. Now for the brakes..... ; )

Welcome Lost,
Don,t listen to them if you like them thats all that matters.
I had two sportys before the dyna and i loved them.
If i could of kept both of them i would of.
welcome
Cyclone - most of my riding is mid week due to the stupid roster system we have at work. I only get 3 weekends in 12 off. I have started a thread in the NSW rides section for when I am heading out mid week.
As for AFL - only rugby has rules about tackling people, in AFL the person with the ball, or about to get the ball, is a target. Attack in any way you can to get the ball off them. Thats it, rules are for wimps!
All good fun
Welcome Lost hope you enjoy the forums and as for calling an 883 a girls bike what a load of bullshit a Harley is a Harley who gives a shit what cc it is.
G'day Lost. ANYTHING with HD on the side wins. When I had my 883 Iron I let a couple of sports bike riders go for a run on it and every one came back with the biggest grin you ever saw, and every one said "I have to get one of these". True I am a bit of a badge victim but there just doesn't seem to be anything else but a HD that gives you the same grin factor. I like my Fatboy a lot but compared to the Iron it is a bit of a Winnebago.
BTW a very good bunch of blokes and gals on this forum, so you are in good company. As idiots go that is...
