FatBoyMick is organising the ride this year.
Numb Nuts Run 2011
June 25/26
With me being in the Gloucester area, just a thought for the southerners, options being straight up the New England and me meet at Uralla, or we meet up in Gloucester (fuel) and head up Thunderbolts way via Walcha, (fuel) on to Uralla. Approx' 451k's from Sydney to Uralla up the Pacific/New England to Uralla, then approx 120ks from Uralla to Glen Innes. The name of our accomodation is Great Central Hotel. For accomodation i will leave it up the individual to book their own rooms. The contact number is" 67321966". $25 a head for a single, $35 for a double. Mrs FatboyMick (Paula) thinks i'm wrong, so i stand to be corrected. There is undercover parking out the back of the hotel for the bikes, the hotel welcomes riders, restaurant at the hotel and BEER, plenty of BEER. This ride is open to wives, girlfriends, partners, but remember, "IT MIGHT GET COLD!" Not wanting to turn anyone off, but it's the truth, hence the name "NUMB NUTS", last year was pretty good, it wasn't that cold in Bendemeer, so this year a colder part of the state has been selected. Patches are available, at a cost of $7 each, (available now). Check your calendar folks, hope you can all make it. Unfortunatley, no guitar this year, Rocker took the axe last year but after a certain speed with the axe on his back it acted like the famous winged keel of Bertrams' yacht, so, we'll have to make do with a jukebox. Look forward to catching up with familiar faces and new ones.
I forgot to mention Sunday, i thought we head back home out on the Gwydir Hwy to Bingara, then onto the Fossikers Way to Tamworth. Just a thought, open for suggestions for the trip home. the whole weekend is approx' 1000k's. Remember to "book your room", it could be a bit chilly camping in a swag in the back yard
Last year was a blast BUT I was the only Qlder down there. All those who just enjoyed the Bellengin Run can vouch for the company of our southern friends. This ride should also be top shelf, so lets get it on...... Two trains of thought on this, one would be head down the coast to Grafton and then cut back over the mountain (Flan reckons its a good ride) and head home via Stanthorpe or two, up through the Gap via Stanthorpe to GI and come home the same way. The long way is only an extra 100 klms.
