Has anyone been following the new season of Biker Build-Off on Foxtel?
I started following this show about a year ago and caught up with some previous episodes. There were some good bike builders involved in past shows notably Russel Mitchel of Exile Cycles who builds bass ass looking industrial bikes; Indian Larry who built some fantastic classic looking old school bikes; Billy Lane who had some pretty innovative designs like a hubless rear wheel and Arlen Ness who built some pretty freaky modern bikes.
A couple of the shows past builders have come to grief, ie Indian Larry is dead, died while performing a stunt on the show where he was stranding on his bike, he fell off and hit his head on the ground, he wasn't wearing a helmet (helmets really do work) and Billy Lane killed a scooter rider while driving drunk in a pick up truck, he is awaiting trail.
I've watched a few episodes of the new season and while the bikes they build are still pretty impressive it seems they need a few builders with a bit of personality like the ones in the previous shows.
And what's with Hugh King, the build-offs are announced by Hugh King who is one of the shows producers, the guy really needs a personality transplant.
Would be interested to hear if others have watched the show?
KC, Dazza,
I watch the show for the same reasons, although the bikes are awesome, there does not seem to be any characters around anymore. I agree the bobbers are a sight to behold, just the thing for tooling to work!
